On the edge of the municipalities of Maintenon and Saint-Piat, the megalithic monuments that make up the archaeological site have been known for many centuries. The dolmen de la Grenouille located at the edge of the road, at the entrance of the hamlet of Changé, the menhir of the Goal of Gargantua in the center of the meadow, the dolmens Petit and Cradle are part of the landscape and the local heritage. It is probably one of the few prehistoric sites of the department grouping so many megaliths in such a restricted area. The site was the subject of 18 excavation campaigns between 1983 and 2000\\. In 2015, a museum was created to explain its history.
