Inheritance of the Lords of Urtubie, the castle belongs to the same family since its construction in 1341\\. Strengthened and extended in the XVIth and XVIIth centuries, the inside keeps(preserves) a series of tapestries of the Flemish school representing episodes of David's history(story). The king Louis XI stayed there in 1463 and Louis XIV established the domain as viscountcy in 1654\\.
