Visit of the windmill Les Éventées
As part of the European Heritage Days, free visits (about 1 hour) to the windmill will be offered by our association’s guides. Themes such as the history of this mill from its creation in 1861 until its rehabilitation in 2006, the functioning of its mechanism as well as that of the millstones, the life of the miller in the 19th century, will be addressed. The purpose of our guides will be largely illustrated by pleasant anecdotes. The mill Les Éventées is one of the two windmills that still work in the Nièvre. Imagine that in 1850, there were nearly 55 windmills in this department, for nearly 550 water mills. Visitors can treat themselves to bread and pastries made on site by our bakers, and cooked in a traditional wood-fired oven. Local producers and artisans will not fail to offer you natural products and art creations. A refreshment bar will offer some thirst-quenching drinks. Other areas of activity such as themed exhibitions or workshops for making paper mills, which have not been organized to date, may be organized. People with reduced mobility (PRM) will have a screening of films and various documents in the former miller’s house, on reservation about ten days before the event.
