Visit to the underworld
Between 2016 and 2019, the teenagers enrolled in the Chantiers jeunes took down and curated what is called «Les Enfers» so that they can be opened to the public. This approach is part of a desire to make known more widely the historical heritage of Draguignan. In the seventeenth century, one called hell (infers) a settling room equipped with basins where the residual water of the mills flowed. Through ducts through a gallery adjacent to the rue des moulins, the room received water from two establishments. This large vaulted room has a cellar with five water settling tanks. A creeping seat facilitates traffic and a small staircase that allowed soap makers an easy recovery of residual fat gives access to the rue des Moulins, formerly called rue des Enfers.
