Visites guiades durant la nit del patrimoni a exposició temporal i la col·lecció permanent del MACE de la mà del personal del museu.

El MACE  es un dels museus d’art modern pioners a Espanya.El Museu d’Art Contemporani d’Eivissa (MACE) va ser inaugurat en 1969 gràcies a l’impuls de l’Ajuntament d’Eivissa potenciat per la Biennal d’Eivissa, que havia celebrat la seua primera edició el 1964. És per tant, un dels museus d’art contemporani més antics de l’Estat.

La seua seu ha estat sempre, fins avui, a l’edifici de Simón Poulet (1727).

El MACE guarda en les seues col·leccions, sempre molt compromeses amb l’avantguarda, fons de diferents procedències, entre els quals cal destacar les obres premiades de la Biennal i d’Ibizagráfic, i les col·leccions de gravat de la donació de Carl van der Voort. Entre els artistes representats, Will Faber, Eduard Micus, Erwin Broner, ‘Portmany’, Erwin Bechtold, Gilbert Herreyns, Frank El Punt, Antoni Hormigo, Rafael Tur Costa, Tàpies, Equip Crònica, Millars…

Després d’una reforma profunda, el museu reobre el 2012 amb un nou edifici de vidre en els antics jardins, que creix cap a l’interior de la terra i el dota de noves sales per a exposicions temporals. L’obra va posar al descobert un conjunt d’habitatges púnics del segle IV a. de C. que s’han integrat a l’espai annex mitjançant un sòl transparent.

The MACE is one of the pioneering modern art museums in Spain. Eivissa Contemporary Art Museum (MACE) was opened in 1969 promoted by Eivissa City Council and encouraged by the Eivissa Biennial which had been held for the first time in 1964. Therefore it is one of the oldest contemporary art museums in Spain.

Up until recently, the museum had always been housed in the Simón Poulet building(1727). The MACE has in its collections –always closely committed to avant garde work- pieces from different origins, among them works that won award as at the Eivissa Biennial and at Ibizagráfic and the collections of engravings donated by Carl van der Voort. Among the artists represented are: Will Faber, Eduard Micus, Erwin Broner, ‘Portmany’, Erwin Bechtold, Gilbert Herreyns, Frank El Punto, Antoni Hormigo, Rafael Tur Costa, Tàpies, Equipo Crónica, Millares…

After extensive renovation works, the museum reopened in 2012 with a new glass building in the old gardens, which grows inwards in the land. It has new rooms for temporary exhibitions. The works revealed a group of Punic dwellings from the 4th century BC which have been incorporated into the annexed space via a transparent floor.
