Overview

The Museum of Childhood Ireland in association with their history team (Dr. Sarah-Anne Buckley and researcher Áine Maguire) have completed an Oral History relating to the sitters of artist Robert Henri's portraits. These portraits were painted by the artist between 1913 - 1928 in his home at Corrymore House, Dooagh. Most all of the sitters were children from Dooagh who have now passed away and the project set about to interview their relatives and bring this cultural phenomenon to the fore. This presentation will speak to the lives of the children of the portraits, their families and their relationship to Dooagh and relevant information from the project interviews. Copies of portraits will be hung for people to view. Open discussion will be followed with refreshments.
