Artwork in straw technique among Bunjevac Croats in Bačka is in the Register of Cultural Property of Croats in Serbia. The tradition of making folk crafts based on the traditional way of weaving straw is faithfully preserved by the First Colony of Naive in straw technique from Tavankut (popularly known as the “colony of straw women”). On the occasion of marking the European Heritage Days the „straw women“ from Tavankut will hold their first workshop for participants from the Turopolje area at the Turist Information and Educational Centre “Novo Čiče“, and then the next day also at the Turopolje Museum in Velika Gorica.
