The main cemetery of the town opened in 1862 and much expanded since. It commemorates over 200 Commonwealth servicemen and women. The majority of World War 1 burials are spread around the cemetery while World War 2 graves are grouped together. War Cross in the Old Ground near the main entrance.
WW2 Walk, using the Cemetery and the Casualties to explain the events both local and worldwide in chronological order. It explores the links that Ayrshire had in major events in the War.
