Walk a mile in my shoes 4.0
As part of our efforts to discover the history of Larnaka's neighborhoods and its people, on Saturday, April 27th we invite you to a new series of tours in the city of Larnaka.
The walks will start start from Saint Joseph's Square opposite the monastery of Kalograeon and will cross part of Kimonos Street, Andreas Stelios Street, Saint Hilarion, Terraobra and will continue to explore the archaeological site of ancient Kition. It will proceed towards the church of Chrysopolitissa, where we will have the opportunity to discuss the religious/spiritual layering of the area "from Aphrodite - to Panagia".
Next, from Kimonos Street we will go to Thomaidis Square and then to Agios Neophytos Street to talk about the great discovery of the mosaic of the Hercules' Labours mosaic, before ending back at Agios Joseph Square.
During the tour we will have the opportunity to talk about the history of the neighborhood, its people, their professions, and their lives. We will talk about the archaeological sites and archeological finds that have come to light since the excavations made during the sewer work, and we will recall old stories associated with the neighborhood.
