Italian theatre built by Victor Louis between 1786 and 1790 in the Richelieu Room of the Palais Royal. The Troupe de la Comédie-Française, created in 1680 at the Hôtel de Guénégaud, settled there in 1799\\. The theatre underwent several transformations, in 1822, in the 1860s to 1864 and following a fire in 1900.
