Overview

Midie Corcoran offers a concise overview of the origins of the Farrell family, their establishment in Tuam, their contribution to the milling industry and their family connections in the area. The Farrell family could document five generations of their ancestors engaged in the business of milling. The name became so closely associated with milling in north Galway that a saying arose "Where there's a Farrell there's a mill." In 1964, milling ceased at The little Mill in Tuam ending the family connections to the trade. This event is hosted by the Mill Museum Committee. The talk will include a slide presentation and there will be a display of some past and present photos of The Little Mill on the day.
