Whiddy Island: Seaweeds – foraging, uses and ecology
Visit Whiddy Island to explore the seashore and learn more about the seaweeds that grow there. The event will be led by Frances Gallagher (aquatic biologist) who will share her knowledge of seaweeds, including tips on foraging and identification. Frances will also discuss the ecology of seaweeds and the myriad of uses to which they can be put.
No dogs allowed.
Free event (except cost of ferry). No booking required.
Ferries leave Bantry’s Main Pier at 2pm (or 1pm if you wish to spend more time exploring the island), returning at 16:15pm (or 17:45) . €8 return. Refreshments and toilets are available at the pub on the island.
