Wicklow's Military Road - Connecting Landscape, People & Place
All are welcome to an evening of sharing stories about the history and heritage of the Military Road in County Wicklow. The Military Road, constructed between the years 1800 to 1809 is an impressive feat of engineering and a unique feature of the Wicklow landscape. Running north to south through the heart of the mountains it provides a unique transect of landscape, people and places in county Wicklow. Join us on this storytelling evening where by Fin Dwyer from Irish History Podcasts will be joined in conversation with local experts to explore the origins of the Road itself from its historical context in the aftermath of 1798, through to its influence on settlement, mining, farming, forestry and tourism up to the current day.
