Overview

European Heritage Days are a cultural event celebrated throughout Europe in September. It all began in France in 1985, but the programme has been organised as the joint initiative of the Council of Europe and the European Union since 1999. The Republic of Srpska has been participating for the last ten years. Every year, a unique general topic is provided, then different institutions devise their activities accordingly. The goal is unity in celebrating the cultural heritage of Europe, but also promotion of the cultural heritage of each country. In this mission the Republic Institute for the Protection of Cultural, Historical and Natural Heritage, in partnership with the Museum of the Republic of Srpska, plans to exhibit a posters on world heritage in the Republic of Srpska (tangible and intangible). Such heritage developed in our cultural area trough aspirations, work, knowledge and skills of previous generations. They created values which are still not known or recognised enough by our contemporaries. The opening of the exhibition is planned for September 24, 2020, in Banja Luka, in one of the suitable open spaces in the city. A poster with additional details will be issued at later date.
