Overview

In the pure tradition of singular art, the exhibition reveals the unusual meeting between the characters and creatures of two Breton artists with rich imaginations: Youen Durand, the artist from Lesconil who created mosaics of shells in relief, and Fañch Savina, the artist from Douarnenez who discovered the "strike people", composed of statues and paintings from the sea leashes. Youen Durand (1922-2005), singular artist. Tailor of clothing at home, then director of the auction in Lesconil, he realizes in his retirement 25 monumental paintings in shells that he bequeathed to his commune. His unique masterpieces form a poetic and dreamlike universe, imbued with a timeless and universal Brittany. Fañch Savina, born in 1963 in Douarnenez, a singular artist, has been composing and exhibiting for 20 years statues and paintings born from shipwrecks collected on the foreshore: “the people of strikes, those beings who, with the complicity of winds and currents, form themselves on the strike leash and whom I have yet to recognize and name.” Accessibility
