Overview

PI Museum and Gallery Tivat is placed in medieval summer house of family Buća-Luković from 15th century. Complex is protected as cultural heritage and with own medieval tower and the chapel of St. Mihovil in the Atrium represents the most valuable buildings in it. Specific architecture from 15 and 16 century, in the period of time when they were built through the all area of East Adriatic coast.

Along the paths of the medieval summer house is a story of family Buća (after Luković), well known family from Kotor. Many families, nobel people from this area had a summer houses in the area of Tivat. Specific buildings, complex of family Buća was a medieval summer house with Tower (defensive features) and the family chapel. The entrance to the summer house in 15 century was from the sea, in that time by traditional wooden boats. The gate as entrance in the yard is still on the same place from where starts path. Early, arround the path were more then 100 pillars arround it and with the left and right garden and well. Today exists only path with well. From the main gate, along the paths of the medieval summer house family had another gate as main entrance to the complex. Complex has Tower, family chapel, economic (ethnographic), residential building (office) and Atrium.

European Dimension

In the time of the 15th and 16th centuries medieval summer houses were bulit on all part of east Adriatic coast. It is a phenomenon of own time as some scinetists think. Share knowledge about heritage of the east adriatic coast, spreading awareness about protected immovable cultural property and former way of life in it.
