European Dimension
The begining of Marijampole city is the Kvietiskis manor built by count Butleris and his wife. Many of heritage events are connected with the life and activities of this manor. The count family had many manors in the territory of Poland, the grandfather of countess Butleriene had founded the town of Szczuczyn in Poland - that is why Marijampole culture club „Aistuva“ has close contacts with the museum of town Szczuczyn. The tours with performances of countess Butleriene are organised to Polish tourists around the Kvietiskis manor and the places connected with Polish heritage. After the conference Grain Magazine building was transferred to the property of Marijampole county museum and it will be reformed and renovated in future. A big space for various modern activities will be built. The club“ Aistuva“ played a very significant role for the conservation of this building. This Manor farm building is the object of both Lithuanian and Polish heritage so its European value is preserved.
