THE EUROPIAN HERITAGE DAYS IN THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF ARMENIAN ETHNOGRAPHYY» National Museum of Armenian Ethnography
The National Museum of Armenian Ethnography is the largest one of ethnographic nature in Armenia.
The Europian Heritage Days international event gave us a great opportunity to hold temporary exhibitions, which would help to show the vicitors the remarkable phenomena and objects of Europian culture, discovering cultural features, Armenian-Europian cultural mutual relations. Over the past three years the museum had more than 10000 online visitors.
There is also an interesting and happy end story. Our museum worker, who was displaying one of the models by the desinger, really looked like a fairy.Her future husband saw her for the first time and they got married very soon. They are very happy couple now .

The National Museum of Armenian Ethnography is the largest one of ethnogrphic
nature in Armenia. The Museum was founded in 1978. It is rightly considered a treasury of national culture, a modern temple.
The well-known director, artist Sergey Parajanov wrote in the visitor's book of impressions: "What is collected and exhibited in the Museum of Sardarapat is a miracle, the Depository of Folk Art".
According to another definition by Boris Piotrovsky, " It is a small Hermitage ". The museum houses a rich and diverse collection of more than 74.000 museum items. It displays objects dating back to the ancient times till the present days on the exhibitional area of 6.500 square metres.
In addition to the large amount of valuable materials related to the Armenian national cultural heritage, the cultural values of other peoples are preserved, studied and popularized here.
"The European Heritage Days " international event gave us a great opportunity to hold temporary exhibitions, which would help to show the visitors the remarkable phenomena and objects of European culture,discovering cultural features, Armenian-European cultural mutual relations.
In 2019, in the temporary exhibition hall of the museum we hold an exhibition entitled "Unforgettable Melodies of Pathephones and Gramophones ", where European phonographs, gramophones and records were displayed. They were accompanied by original European interior elements, European outfit, men's accessories and suits, men and women wide-brimmed hats, gloves, fans, handbags, wallets, etc. All of these items were from the museum collection.
At the and of the event, the museum staff and the students of a well-known designer Gayane Yeghiazaryan presented her models in the European style. The designer has a special love for European, especially Venetian masks, which play a significant role in her works. The video about the exhibition was posted on the museum's Facebook page and had more than 1.200 views.
There is also an interesting and happy end story. Laura, a museum worker, who was displaying one of the works by the designer, appeared in a blue European dress, hat and mask. She really looked like a fairy. That day her future husband saw her for the first time . They got married very soon, they are a happy couple now and have got a baby daughter.
In 2020, the exhibition "Luxury of European Clothes" was held with the credo of European cultural peculiarities. An exhibition of European clothes was held in the museum hall of decorative-applied art . In the framework of the project, a museum worker conducted a Spanish dance class, which was welcomed by visitors and virtual viewers.
During the 2020 epidemic, besides real visitors, the museum received thousands of virtual visitors as well, who enjoyed watching and liked the videos we posted, including those dedicated to European heritage.
In 2021, a temporary exhibition entitled "Collection of European Tableware and Interior Items" was held in the hall оf the museum permanent exhibition.
Over the past three years the museum had more than 10.000 online visitors.
Universality is very typical of the Europian culture and it will give opportunity to develop and promote common cultural values.
