"Mausoleums by bike" is an event through which we aim to promote and emphasize, among cycling enthusiasts, the mausoleums in Vrancea County which were erected in honor of the First World War heroes. We leave from the Focșani Mausoleum, visit the Soveja Mausoleum and the Mărăști Mausoleum, pass by the Mărășești Mausoleum and end our adventure in Focșani. We promote both the heroism of those who sacrificed themselves on the battlefields, but also the universal architectural value of mausoleums.

The event has been organized since 2015, on the occasion of the "European Heritage Days", in collaboration and partnership with sports associations and public institutions.

The chosen route crosses an area of ​​spectacular nature, with living communities, in full development. The more we move away from crowded, urban locations, we have the opportunity to know what we like to call Archaic Vrancea.

In addition to the sports side and historical connotations, we always have in mind the introduction of cultural events into the program - folk music, chamber or choral music, poetry recitals, authentic folklore and traditional folk crafts specific to Vrancea region. All these are offered in a blend of quality and refinement, in complete matching with the place, time and audience for which they are intended.

We also seek and mobilize participants in order to be able to make meaningful donations to people and communities that we cross on the way, such as books, sports equipment.

And, because the route goes through a picturesque and impressive national wine domain, we take care to add to the event's agenda the visit of emblematic locations in the production and promotion of established wine brands. On this occasion we offer participants guided tours and wine tasting education. Certainly, the grapes are at your discretion, in selected varieties and with flavors for all tastes

Obviously, we wish for the widest possible participation, but also quality people, who can inspire generations through their work, their successes, but also the character or education that define them. Therefore, we invite to the "Mausoleums by bike" event personalities from culture, media, sports and more, who love pedaling in nature and have proper human interaction in an honest and open way.

From a technical point of view, the route is not an easy one at all, that's why our slogan "we ride in a heroic way" is quite meaningful. By this we want to have participants who have confirmed their love for cycling, who live this passion to the fullest and are able to endure the sustained, long effort, regardless of weather conditions up to the finish line. The descents and ascents alternate without becoming overwhelming, and the quality of the road is not questionable. We have in mind to encourage the cyclists by making available, along the itinerary, some points of supply, hydration and technical support. Medical assistance or traffic safety are our main concerns on the way. .

We aim to promote the broad knowledge of history, not only as a chronology but also as a mechanism by which we would like to stop repetition of mistakes or to increase the quality and consciousness of our deeds. The European space is so dense with remarkable moments and places that deserve to be known by all people. An international participation in the event is intended to confirm that our targets have been met. That is why we insist on intensive promotion in the media, on the support of the authorities in the area, as well as on the contributions of some people or businesses that support sport, culture and history.

The land of Vrancea meant so much in the development of the battles of the First World War - a world marked by huge sacrifices, a truly heroic world. The mausoleums dedicated to this sequence of history are materializations that must be known beyond the borders of this country.

On the other hand, sport is an extremely influential agent, certainly beneficial, but also able to form human characters. The expansion of cycling as a clean/green sport, open to all ages, and the manifestation of its presence in the landscapes of this beautiful region only contribute to better health, pleasant ways of spending free time, the development of hobbies and the increase in the quality of the tourist offer in the area .
