“Vėtrungių kelias” is a game for travellers to discover ethnographical region of Lithuania Minor which is identified by unique natural sights, fauna, rich and multicultural history.
The community of Šilutė came up with an idea of “Vėtrungių kelias” in 2013. Today, together with a wide range of partners all over the region, we offer a comprehensive, interesting and engaging travel game!

“Vėtrungių kelias” is a game for travellers to discover ethnographical region of Lithuania Minor which is identified by unique natural sights, fauna, rich and multicultural history. Vente Cape, Curonian Spit, which is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, Aukstumala swamp and many more sights awaits you here! The community of Šilutė came up with an idea of “Vėtrungių kelias” in 2013. Today, together with a wide range of partners all over the region, we offer a comprehensive, interesting and engaging travel game! We are happy to say, that we have 21 (and counting) partners in Klaipėda, Klaipėda district, Neringa, Nida, Pagėgiai, Jurbarkas (Smalininkai-Viešvilė) and Šilutė culture and tourism institutions. Since 2022 game became an app with the same name. It is available to download on Google Play store and Apple App store. The active game season starts on 26th of June every year. On this day in 1844, weather vanes (vėtrungė) were created by Wilhelm Ernst Beerbohm and became a distinctive, unique symbol of Lithuania Minor. Every season is marked by traditional Kafija day when travellers have an opportunity to taste a delicious traditional coffee drink of Lithuania Minor – Kafija. We have over 18 locations around region, where this drink is availabe during season opening. The active season ends on 27th of September, World Tourism Day. This day symbolizes connection between tourism and culture. The game is being updated every year. The game is very simple. All you have to do, is download the app, select the route (or create your own), follow the clues, answer questions, get codes, collect prizes and discover our unique region! During the active season, prize boxes are available at all our partner's institutions. We have prepared 6 different routes, spreading across all counties of our region, with 5 different objects to discover in each country.

Aim of "Vetrungiu kelias" is to educate and introduce Lithuania Minor region in a form of a game. Lithuania Minor has a rich, multicultural, history, architecture, cousine, nature objects and fauna, that is only typical to us. 2023 is very special to us, as we celebrate 100 year anniversary of indepentance from Germany, so we find it important to educate locals and tourist about uniqueness of our region. Our main goal in 2023 is to make "Vėtrungių kelias" a part of Lithuanian National Cultural Routes program.
