Tag des offenen Denkmals®

Theme for 2025: Wert-voll: unbezahlbar oder unersetzlich? / Valuable: Priceless or irreplaceable?

Date: 14 September 2025

Tag des offenen Denkmals® is Germany's Largest Cultural Event for Monument Preservation.
Since 1993, it has been coordinated nationwide by the German Foundation for Monument Protection, which operates under the patronage of the Federal President. The German Foundation for Monument Protection is responsible for the concept of the event, sets the annual motto, and provides a comprehensive program and numerous free advertising media. It supports the organizers with nationwide press and public relations work and a wide range of services. Open Monument Day is Germany's contribution to the European Heritage Days. With this event, the German Foundation for Monument Protection raises awareness of monument preservation in Germany. The event is organized locally by countless organizers – from monument owners, associations and initiatives to full-time monument conservationists – without whom Open Monument Day would not be possible. Open Monument Day is a registered trademark of the German Foundation for Monument Protection.
