Every year for two days in September, Italy adheres at European Heritage Days, the programme promoted since 1991 by the European Council and the European Commission. The aim is to emphasize the central role of cultural heritage and to involve communities in its participation.

The festival is coordinated by Italian Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities.
