St Margarets Episcopal Church has been an integral part of the community in Lochee and Ancrum Road for over 150 years. The church has provided pastoral and spiritual care for local residents throughout difficult periods in history, including two world wars, the depression and the decline of the jute industry. It has been strongly associated with the mill workers of Lochee including those working in Cox’s Mill and was a hub of community activity offering a huge range of clubs and societies to people living in the area over many years. It continues to be a centre of Christian worship, offering a caring supportive space for those who seek it.
Visitors will be able to explore the church and its hall with a guide and discover its hidden historic features. Visitors can listen to the organ recital at 11.30am and 1pm and try playing the organ with the support of our organist.

Visitors will be able to understand the role of the church in the social history of the community through photographs and stories from the congregation over the years. Information on the men named on the war memorial and their connections to Dundee will be on display.
Activities for children will include an opportunity to design a church building and add features which reflect something important to them. There will also be a treasure hunt, quiz and craft activities. They will also be able to have a go at speaking from the pulpit and lectern.
The toilet facilities are accessible but not wheelchair accessible.
