At 8 acres in size, Amisfield Walled Garden is one of the largest walled kitchen gardens in Scotland. Enclosed by 16-foot-high stone walls, and with an ornamental circular pavilion in each corner, the garden was built to impress visitors to the estate as well as delivering a steady supply of fresh fruit and vegetables to the house.
Opportunity for visitors to see progress made by Trust in rescuing and developing the Walled Garden. Plentiful space for picnics, and for young children to play and run around in a safe environment. Apple pressing of our apples (subject to Mother Nature providing), with opportunity to participate in creation of apple juice. A joyful harvest exhibition Celebrating Art, Craft, Poetry and Produce

The walled garden is a remnant of a designed landscape associated with Amisfield House, a Palladian mansion built by the Earl of Wemyss in the 1750s, now sadly demolished.

Have a virtual wander around the beautiful Amisfield Walled Garden.
