Aperçu

Settled in Chalon since 1619, the Carmelites were dispersed during the Revolution. In 1825, they rebuilt their convent, with spaces for novices, several chapels, a cloister, cells, a refectory, gardens and a chapter hall. They lived in these places, in autarchy and cloitrées, until the 1960s. In 1970, they sold these properties to the city and moved to Mazille, in Saône-et-Loire. Contemporary art exhibitions are now regularly held in the largest chapel. To be noted : visits at 14:00 and 16:00 (duration 1h30) Age from 8 to 99 y.o.
