Apžvalga

Ukrainian modernist writer, an early participant of the feminist movement in Bukovina and a master of dramatic storytelling.

Olga Kobylyanska was called by her contemporaries: both "a mountain eagle" for her proud heart, and "a lush rose in the garden of Ukrainian literature" - for the bright metaphorical nature of her artistic vision. During the half of a century active career, Kobylyanska created dozens of short stories, essays, novels, critical and journalistic articles and translations. A 10-tome collection of her works was published in Ukraine. Her best works have been translated into many languages.

  • The Human

• The Queen

•The Land

• Niobe

• On Sunday morning I dug a potion...

• Over the Bridge

• According to situations

• Apostle of darkness

Chernivtsi citizens hold in high regard and respect the creative resident of our city, who made Chernivtsi and Ukraine famous throughout the world. The city has a monument, a museum, a street, a theater, a cinema and even a school named after Olga  Kobylyanska.
