Overview

Throughout the 14th and 15th centuries, Spanish elites developed a cosmopolitan artistic language that drew from a variety of artistic traditions.

The development of an international Islamic language, as well as the constant exchanges with al-Andalus, allowed the development of shared cultural practices in the Iberian Peninsula that were reflected in literature, architecture, visual arts and sumptuary objects.

In this lecture we will take a look at the changes that took place in the art and architecture of the 14th and 15th centuries in the Iberian Peninsula, their relationship with the arts of al-Andalus and we will analyse how this heritage has been catalogued throughout history
