Book binding has a long tradition that starts in the second century. Numerous technical and decorative variations were developed during the Middle and Modern Ages and industrialised from the end of century to meet the growing demand for publications. The current handcrafted bookbinding workshops have methods that reflect this long tradition and incorporate the latest artistic trends to satisfy the demands from libraries, book collectors and lovers of the singular objects.
