Overview

We are delighted to present this video that emerges from a project on Romanesque heritage carried out in our college María Inmaculada, in the town council of Silleda, Galicia.

Through the Way of St James, declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 2015, and as an emblem of meeting and union among the different cultures that are encountered,  we will walk our own path of learning about the material and spiritual heritage of our surroundings, Silleda.

The chosen places are a small but magnificent example of the historical and artistic legacy of Romanesque art in Galicia, a symbol of the footprint left by our ancestors and which identifies us culturally.

Accompanying this journey is “Exilieta”, a piece of music composed by Anton Alcalde and recorded by the Silleda Wind Band, which takes its name from the old name of our town and is based on our environment and our history, with the bagpipe as an essential element for understanding our culture.
