Overview
The world is constantly developing, life changes every day, but there is one thing that remains unchanged, and even artificial intelligence is powerless against it — it is culture.
In the heart of Armenian culture, lies a centuries-old tradition of fragrant rituals and aromatic remedies. One of the most intersting with its history is Papier d'Arménie. This simple yet captivating paper, infused with an aromatic blend, has a rich history that traces back to the late 19th century.
When we were thinking about what topic to choose, we accidentally heard about Papier ďArmeine and since it was new to us, we decided to research it for us and then present it to others. At first, it was a little difficult to find information, but then we managed to collect so much information from encyclopedias and videos that it didn't even fit into 1 video.
We decided to shoot in an important historical and cultural site—the Mother Cathedral of Etchmiadzin, because the main ingredient of Papier d'Arménie is incense, and incense has a special significance in the church.
It was very cold that day. During the filming, we didn't notice that our voice was not audible in the video. As a result, we had to film a second time.
We became very close during the discussions and filming. We also became closer to our culture and began to value it more.
Paper d'Arménie is a remarkable example of how the fusion of two different cultures can make something as ordinary as paper extraordinary, transforming an ancient tradition into a modern ritual of purification, atmosphere, and remembrance.
