The Cultural Heritage of Málaga

Málaga is a very beautiful city in the south of Spain. It has a lot of history and many traditions. One of the most famous places is Calle Larios. It is a long and elegant street in the centre. Many people walk there every day. At Christmas, the street is full of lights, music, and a happy atmosphere.

In the city centre, we can also find the Alcazaba and the Roman Theatre. The Alcazaba is an old Islamic fortress from the 11th century. The Roman Theatre is even older, from the 1st century. These two monuments show that different cultures lived in Málaga many years ago.

Another traditional place is Casa Aranda, a very popular café since 1932. People go there to eat delicious churros with hot chocolate.

Holy Week is a very important tradition in Málaga. During these days, there are many processions in the streets, and people wait to see the religious images. The Cathedral, called La Manquita because it has only one tower, is also a symbol of the city.

Culture is also present in the Cervantes Theatre, where concerts and shows take place. Málaga has typical food like gazpachuelo, camperos, and the sweet locas. The city also has a special accent with words like pechamijita, and aliquindoi.
