Promotion of the book The Occult Spirit of Modernity will be promoted. Architect Alois Vjekoslav Bastl alias astrologer Uranus and his era, by his author Omer Rak, will be held on the occasion of marking the European Heritage Days. The book observes Vjekoslav Bastl, a well-known Croatian protomodernist architect, as an esotericist and passionate astrologer, who also expressed his interest in the occult in his architectural projects. Bastl incorporated various astrological symbols and elements into the facades of buildings he designed in the period from 1899 to 1909. Bastl’s facades still exsist, so in this way we preserve and revive the memory of Bastl’s contribution to cultural heritage.
