Overview

Playing to build its own industrial built it with recycled materials that we find at home, children will be able to build a great industrial city and recognize historic monuments of our city through their forms and volumes.

The activity shows children how the historical industrial buildings (factories, mill, silos, chimneys...) works and why it is so important that we keep the remains of this heritage, at the same time receiving a basic understanding of architecture. One of the examples presented here is the approach to windmills. Over the years, the loss of the primitive function of the mills has led to the loss of their original identity, and therefore to ignorance of its functioning and importance of all parts of the building. On many occasions, this lack of knowledge makes the "recovery" interventions of these traditional buildings based on structural restoration of the container, and on very few occasions the recovery of the soul of the mill: the machine.

European Dimension

European industrial heritage is a development engine between regions that are declining. One of the tasks that is being carried out is to promote the tourism, thus enhancing the international links that it generates.
