Durante esta visita guiada por el cementerio de Getxo conoceremos que en la tradición vasca hay una relación muy familiar entre la vida y la muerte: se nace, se vive, se muere y de alguna manera quedan enterradas las vidas en el hogar (etxe). Entre los siglos XIII-XVIII se generalizan los enterramientos dentro de las iglesias y, con el fin de mantener la secuencia tradicional, cada familia tenía su sepultura en la iglesia en un espacio denominado jarleku.

During this guided tour through the Getxo cemetery we will learn that in the Basque tradition there is a very familiar relationship between life and death: one is born, one lives, one dies and in some way the lives are buried in the home (etxe). Between the XIII-XVIII centuries, burials were generalized inside the churches and, in order to maintain the traditional sequence, each family had its own burial in the church in a space called jarleku.
