Bedem fest, relying on enthusiasm and volunteerism  is a local, regional and international manifestation. Cultural heritage, interculturality, cross-frontier cooperation, vulnerabile groups, youth, volunteerism, are messages that we send from year to year to the general public. Bedem fest is especially responsible for the inclusion of the entire local community on the revival of cultural life in Niksic with the emphasis on the protection, preservation and valorization of the Old town of Bedem.

The old town of Bedem is part of a religious, cultural, natural and civilization context.Bedem fest is not classic music festival that is characterized by additional – following programs which take part in different periods of the year, and with which we want to achieve broader social – sociological effect on various target groups and groupings.During Bedem fest we organise a concert  using a monument or historical place in our community (Old Town Bedem) as the main stage. Bedem fest mission is that the fortress becomes symbol of peace in a context of the past, the present and the future, place of conciliation, place of encounters and sharing of positive energy. Insistence on the significance of preservation of cultural – historical heritage is one of our main objectives. The slogan of 6 th Bedem Fest was Peace, Brother, Peace and our message to everyone is to respect peace as an immeasurable and often endangered value of our planet, and to admire the simplicity and ease of our own existence in harmony with nature and ourselves… Like the urban scream for peace, for respect of human dignity and life of all…This will only confirm the commitment to integration, openness, and civilizational consciousness of the need to connect, communicate, share… there are mechanisms through which we can get together and develop the above mentioned idea to satisfy all. Culture and cultural heritage is a fantastic platform and a very important factor of reapprochement. Art knows no boundaries

Insistence on the significance of preservation of cultural – historical heritage; Establishing cooperation with other organizations, groups and individuals on local, regional and international level; Insistence on the significance of ideas of volunteerism, positive spirit and positive energy among people in all areas of common interest; Given the current mismatch in the flow of cultural goods globally, it is necessary to enhance cooperation and international solidarity. This could be a call to everyone to love each other, to respect peace and dignity of human life each of us individually. Let it be our honest message, without any political implications, sent to everyone everywhere in the world, because, unfortunately, in many parts of the world peace is disturbed, and we are in the situation to listen to wails of many… On that location there are some of very interesting cultural – historical properties, like Roman basin, ruined mosque, former Montenegrin captaincy, Captain Musovic’s house, former Italian prison and many others. After all, even European law’s documents emphasize protection of cultural monuments as an activity of common interest. Respecting that fact, promotion of cultural heritage and care for it would be very significant segment of Bedem fest campaign.
