Under the motto "The art of sharing: hermitage and boundary crosses", the Taula del Sénia organises the European Heritage Days 2018. The Days will count on more than 30 activities around all their municipalities: itineraries on foot, by bicycle or car, lectures, exhibitions, children's workshops. From this, the aim is to disclose these sites and buildings for both their aesthetic, cultural and historical value.

From its creation, the Taula del Sénia has been a space for sharing: 27 municipalities from 3 different autonomous communities share their experiencies, projects and dreams.
Under the motto “The art of sharing: hermitages and boundary crosses”, the Taula del Sénia organises the European Heritage Days 2018, which will include more than 30 activities around all their municipalities: itineraries on foot, by bicycle or car, lectures, exhibitions, children’s workshops.
From this, the aim is to disclose these sites and buildings, for both their esthetic and cultural value. Moreover, these buildings meet the requirements of the human being: the mark of the popular religiosity, a residents’ meeting point to bless animals, the prays for the rain or the crops and, in other cases, the commemorative intention or a signpost for the paths.
Although times have changed and the religious mentalities have evolved, we can not dismiss our ancestors’ feelings as they take part of our own historic personality. This forgotten heritage have to be preserved, disseminated and conveyed to the future generations. Furthermore, the cultural heritage is property of all the citizens and identifies not only the territory but also the elements that take part of a larger geographical area. From this, the culture, even in the smallest villages, is universal.

European Dimension

The events are designed in order to disclose and revalue the heritage resources that are hardly known. In all cases, the local community approve and participate in the activities to perform them properly.
They promote the culture, local products and new economic activities that help by creating jobs and slowing down depopulation.
Particularly, they are focused on the modest heritage that have acquired a cultural meaning. Likewise, heritage, history and culture are concepts that are always linked and combined in all the events.
The activities always follow the sustainability criteria in terms of environment, society and economy.
They have been organised without any external economic help thanks to the cooperation and the volunteer work of the councils, associations and people from the territory.
There was particular focus on the youngest people so lectures and a literary contest have been organised in school centres.
All the events are promoted through our website and social networks in order to give a broader scope.
