Serbia suffered massive human casualties in the First World War. The warfare scattered numerous markings - the sites of soldier suffering throughout the Europe. Our story will provide new insights related to the so-called regular soldier, whose individual destiny has remained outside of scientific research, but has been passed on and preserved among the descendants and the community, and show respect for all military and civilian victims of the First World War. Numerous typo-logical, artistic and substantially diverse military memorials and places of suffering found throughout the entire territory of Europe testify to the perception, respect and remembrance of the first global armed conflict in the history of mankind. Finding and discovering sites of monuments which are part of the First World War cultural heritage with the aim of their identification and documenting will entail the discovery of the entire monumental heritage, as well as its thorough introduction, study and digital protection, and the specific Web-Mobile-GIS platform shall provide a new, modern and innovative map display of this monumental heritage. Locating the cultural monuments as the part of cultural heritage related to the period of First World War for the purpose of their identification, includes discovering the entire monumental heritage, its thorough analysis, research and digital protection. In order to achieve the goals of the project, it was envisaged to create a specific Web-Mobile-GIS platform, which in a new, modern and innovative way enables the display of the monumental heritage on the map. The platform consists of several related components and includes the web, the mobile and the GIS (Geographic Information System) component, along with the extensive the database. The project will include the possibility of photographic and historical depictions or videos of each monument in Europe, including cultural monuments, as well as memorial plaques, statues, memorials, and other relevant historical and cultural units. Use of new technologies - Internet presentations, social networks and applications for mobile phones with the web - mobile and GIS (Geographic Information System) components in the promotion, visibility and sustainability of the First World War monuments will be available to a wide range of population. www.slavnimprecima.rs

Our story shall include entire collected, discovered and documented Serbian memorial heritage related to the First World War on the territory of Europe by using new internet technologies (internet presentations, social networks and mobile phone applications), in order to create an electronic database (with video records) of the total monumental heritage of the Serbian people from the First World War and its presence in the digital world, which is the natural environment of the new generations, necessary for the scientifically relevant message to be published in an adequate manner. The goal of the project serves as a means of increasing the level of citizen participation in cultural activities and balanced cultural development and is an incentive for intersectoral activities (culture/science, culture/education, culture/tourism, culture/economy). Creating a database of the entire Serbian monumental heritage from the First World War for the purpose of digital protection of military memorials, their preservation, modern valorization and presentation to the expert and the general public will be a material the researchers could use in the future. The project achieves the freedom of cultural and artistic creativity and respect for the right to culture - the equality of all cultures on the territory of Europe, the preservation of cultural identities and diversity, the responsibility of public authorities for the development of culture and art, supporting development and innovation in culture, the harmonization of cultural and media system with standards of the EU and the European Council, the establishment of a modern, efficient, rational and creative system of governance in culture and public action in culture. It is significant for European memory, a culture of memory because it speaks of its civilization achievement and cultural level. The project will also present a good model for presenting the total monumental heritage of Europe with the use of marketing tools and with high motivation of the widest community.
