DIDACTIC WORKSHOP: "HARD ART"
The activity will take place on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October, at 10.30 and 12 h. Participants will learn how to engrave on a slate plate designs similar to those documented in open-air rock art sites ( Côa Valley and Siega Verde).
They will start by delimiting the drawing with charcoal. Then they will work on it by scratching or picketing it. Finally, they will fill in the engraving with red pigment. Participants can take their work home with them.
The didactic objective of the activity is to familiarise children with Palaeolithic cave art and, more specifically, with that made in the open air. They will thus learn about the themes, execution techniques and stylistic and chronological issues linked to this "art that escaped from the caves".
