OPEN DAY ON THE OCCASION OF THE EUROPEAN DAY OF ROCK ART
Cantabria is home to more than 70 caves with cave art, paintings and engravings that constitute an outstanding aspect of the region's prehistoric past and whose characteristics allow it to be linked to that of other European areas. Cantabrian art, a sample of the thinking of those settlers at the end of the Pleistocene, is fully integrated into the Palaeolithic artistic cycle of SW Europe, although with internal peculiarities and differences. As part of the celebration of the EUROPEAN DAY OF RUPESTRIAN ART, the Government of Cantabria is offering an open day, with free admission, to commemorate the event. Given the health circumstances, the capacity is limited and prior reservation is obligatory.
