THE BASURTO OF YESTERDAY AND TODAY SEEN BY THEIR NEIGHBOURS.
The Basurto district has health and care services, leisure, economy, education and mobility. On this occasion we will have the opportunity to visit the heritage of an area of Bilbao hand in hand of its inhabitants, thanks to the drive of its neighbourhood association. What we
demonstrates in passing that initiatives for the teaching and transmission of heritage can also start from the local community.
On its 30th anniversary, the Basurto Neighbourhood Association invites
discover the lesser-known side of the neighbourhood. Accompanied by Javier Del Vigo and Joseba Eguiraun, we will approach the origin and end of the Novia Salcedo in the Convent of the Capuchins, we will walk through the great Sabino Arana Avenue to enjoy the Building Materias Inflamables (La Perrera) or the House of Disinfections, we will walk the Camino de la Estación, not forgetting, of course, some emblematic educational centres as the Municipal Schools.
