With over 125 years of history, the University of the Church of Deusto
was the first higher education centre in the Basque Country and is the
oldest private university in Spain. Created by the Company of
Jesus in 1886, from his origins has had a pioneering character that
has translated into its teaching model and the degrees that
offers; a century-old institution that always looks to the future. Its
quality and prestige are corroborated in various rankings. Today it counts with nearly 15,000 students between formal studies and training
continue.

Forming part of our daily environment, it has managed to preserve
its old buildings and, at the same time, adapt to the new times and needs, integrating into the urban landscape of our city with an avant-garde architecture.
