“National minorities in the museum” exhibition, ethnic musical performances, national food tasting
In 2021 Folk Arts Museum after Hovhannes Sharambeyan joined European Heritage Days with a special program of events.
As a part of the European Heritage Days, the events were held with the participation of the national minorities of Armenia. On September 25 the museum presented the culture of national minorities living in Armenia within the framework of European Heritage Days with displays of national traditions, dishes, song and dance.
After the welcoming and congratulatory speeches by the officials representing the ethnic minority communities, diplomatic representatives and the director of the museum, each community solemnly presented ethnic cultural performances. The director of the museum and the leaders of the national communities emphasized the continuity of the museum-community cooperation and further cultural exchanges between the museum and the local community .
Russian, Greek, Georgian, Assyrian, Yazidi, Kurdish, and Ukrainian folk music, poetry, dance performances were played in the exhibition halls of the museum until the evening. Besides, the tasting of unique national dishes was, perhaps, the most popular part of the day.
Being an enterprise loved by thousands of European citizens, the holding of European Heritage Days is an important event for the Folk arts museum after Hovhannes Sharambeyan.
Emphasizing the universal role and importance of cultural heritage, the museum every year organize the exhibitions, trainings, concersts and other intersting events.
