“Our Heritage, more alive than ever”
"Our Heritage, more alive than ever", is an initiative that aims at making visible the intangible heritage of the province of Jaén, to give the relevance that it deserves, and highlighting it as it is at risk of disappearance, and the approach of the Territorial Delegation of Tourism, Culture and Sports of Jaén for its preservation.
With the itinerant conception of this project we allude to the movement that the traditional knowledge and customs of the province treasures.
Among the different types that we can find in Jaén, we want to highlight the following through this exhibition;
The work of pottery and ceramics, The Huerta de Pegalajar, The Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Head, The Landscape of the Olive Grove, The Landscape of Otíñar, The Mine-Foundry of La Tortilla de Linares, The mountain bowls, Corpus Christi of Villacarrillo, La Espartería in Sierra Mágina and Los Caracoles de Rus.
That is why we wanted to show this Heritage and take it to the streets in the form of a traveling exhibition in which, through photography, writing and sound, we offer citizens this Asset in a simple, affordable way and for all audiences.
Our Heritage, more alive than ever, would be based on a distribution of eight mobile panels, with photographic and descriptive content on each of the sides, representing each of these.
It is, therefore, through an exhibition, an approach to intangible heritage.
In addition, each panel will have a QR code, completing it with podscats, so that all the people who want to enter can hear more information about what they are seeing.
They will be presented in open-air and walkable spaces, lasting two weeks in each of the chosen towns, thus reaching the maximum possible for the citizen.
The destinations where it will be located will be: Andújar, Baeza, Cazorla, Jáen, Linares and Úbeda.

• The Sanctuary of “Virgen de la Cabeza”, located in the highest area of the Cerro del Cabezo, where originally there was a hermitage erected to commemorate the appearance of the Virgin to the pastor Juan de Rivas, where the Pilgrimage of the Virgen de la Cabeza, declared an Asset of Cultural Interest, considered a festive-religious manifestation highlighted for its ethnological, historical and landscape values.

Their construction responded to various functionalities, among which the most notable are shelters from inclement weather and surveillance posts for work related to the cultivation of vines, cereals and fruit and vegetable harvesting.

The project “Our Heritage, more alive than ever” will promote the active participation of citizens by giving the possibility of being an accessible exhibition in busy places on the street for all types of audiences, whether children, youth, adults and seniors.
Photography is chosen as the main resource when showing these Assets of Cultural Interest, and at the same time we reinforce it with a short brief history, both written and in the form of podscats using a QR code for each asset, placing special emphasis on the sensitive and fragile of this type of intangible heritage because it can disappear depending on intergenerational transmission, its visibility being an obligation of administrations.
