West Limerick Resources is delighted to invite you to a complimentary tour of the OPW owned Desmond Castle in the heart of Newcastle West, followed by a walking tour through the picturesque and historic town of Newcastle West. Expert tour guide Alice Brennan will guide us as we uncover the hidden history of County Limerick's county town.

Did you know the Bridge of Tears was named because it served as a poignant farewell point? Or there is a Famine graveyard behind St. Ita's Hospital? Join Alice during Heritage Week to explore these and other fascinating historical sites in Newcastle West.

Embrace the town's motto, "As Dúchas Dóchas" ("From Heritage, Hope"), as you delve into the rich history that has shaped Newcastle West. We extend a special welcome to newcomers to the town and region. Come and learn about the history of your new home - immerse yourself in the stories that have shaped this vibrant community.

August 21st: Meet at the gates of Desmond Castle at 5PM for a tour of the site, and again at the gates at 5.40 to begin the tour of NCW.
