Beneath our feet lies a hidden network essential for all forms of life, including plants, mammals, birds and bugs. This crucial underground connection occurs within the soil. Throughout the long and complex process of soil formation process, tiny yet essential organisms play a critical role in laying the groundwork for the food chain and enriching biodiversity.

If you are keen on exploring more about soil and its residents, join us for a walk and a bug hunt, and conduct experiments like true scientists!

This walk and talk takes place in Knocksink Wood Nature Reserve, starting at 2pm in front of the Education Center. It is an outdoor event, so we advise visitors to wear suitable, weatherproof clothing, bring hand sanitiser.

Dogs are not permitted, with the exception of Guide Dogs. Looking forward to seeing you there!
