Dublin City Council "Building Stories..."
All over Dublin are places with stories to tell: from buildings to parks, some on your doorstep, others just a bus or luas trip away. Their stories are still being written, and they won’t be complete until you share your own stories.
As part of Heritage Week 2024, Dublin City Council's Conservation Section’s “Building Stories…” project invites you to share your connection to a place you know well or are discovering for the first time by sharing your stories and your drawings of your favourite buildings and spaces in the city. These might be places along the river or the docks, bridges, walls, tall buildings, small buildings, your own garden, home or school. What are they made of…? What colours and shapes are they…? Are they tall or small…?
Your view of a place is as unique as you, so every picture and story you share with us is an important piece of the picture. Every piece is important and the more pieces of the picture we have, like the pieces in a huge jigsaw, the better we can work together to protect what makes these places special. Stories can be from memories of school trips and family events to major events and changes that you have witnessed. We love to hear you tell us what makes places around the city special for you.
Our "Building Stories" forms will be provided in every Dublin City Council Library during Heritage Week for children and adults to share their stories and drawings.
