The 19 hectare Ionad an Bhlascaoid - The Blasket Centre is part of Ireland's newest National Park, Páirc na Mara Chiarraí. Beginning and ending at the Centre, take an expertly guided walking tour through extraordinary natural scenery and learn the fascinating stories behind every cliff, crag and seascape from the Spanish Armada through to the unique heritage of the Blasket Islands, an hour long immersion in nature, history and folklore. This special guided walk will take place at 3pm every day during Heritage Week 2024, from the 17th to the 25th of August. The walk has a number of stiles but the route is on established paths and is suitable for most able-bodied people. Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a rainjacket - just in case! There is ample parking on-site, excellent toilet facilities and a café. Tours will be delivered bilingually as Gaeilge and in English, depending on demand.
