If you have ever looked up above modern retail signs and wondered about the history of the buildings, and what they were before then this event is for you. Join historians Dr Dagmar O'Riain-Raedel and Dr Danielle O'Donovan for a convivial and informative stroll down McCurtain Street to discover how the street was dramatically transformed in the 19th century.

While the stroll will focus mainly on the architectural developments, we will also explore the social, economic and topographical changes that occurred at the same time. We will talk specifically about the iconic shops, churches and the Metropole Hotel as we move along the street.

The pace will be gentle and we will do our best to accommodate any special needs anyone coming along may need, but we will not have sign language available.
