Local Link to Sligo's Past
Transport For Ireland Local Link Services have multiple routes connecting Sligo Town to the wider area. Services 563, 566, 572, 977 and 981 operate multiple times a day throughout the week as part of the Connecting Ireland Rural Mobility Plan - a major national transport initiative developed and funded by the National Transport Authority, with the aim of increasing connectivity and a sustainable method of travel, particularly for people living outside major cities and towns.
As the theme for Heritage Week is based on Connections, Routes and Networks; the OPW want to incentivise people to use this sustainable mode of travel to Sligo and visitors who present their Local Link bus ticket from Monday August 19th to Friday August 23rd will get free entry into Sligo Abbey.
