Tullynisk House was built in about 1810 to the designs of Bernard Mullens for two younger sons of the Parsons family, of Birr Castle. Set in a demesne of magnificent oak trees, it is remarkable both for its architectural ingenuity and regularity. The central feature of the five bay facade is part gothic, part Regency, recessed within a giant arch While the the exterior is typically late-Georgian, the interior combines classical and Gothic elements. The tour will last about an hour and will include a visit to the much earlier yard that was built as part of the original Woodfield House. Places limited, booking recommended.
